Halloween 2011

We started off Halloween week with an adult costume party that friends in the ward throw. Bryan went as Justin Bieber and I tried to be Hannah Montana but was often mistaken for Madonna. P.S. I should never be a blonde... Thanks to Mom and Dad for babysitting!
I was asked to plan the Ward Halloween Party. I tried to be a little different than in past years just to try something new. I was so busy running around, I didn't very many pictures. We had a chili potluck, I got rolls donated from Texas Roadhouse, and soda. We had a photo booth that was so much fun and the families loved it. They had props and everything! There were crafts for the kids and a coloring station, a hay ride, face painting, pie eating contests, a magic show and a haunted house. We ended with a trunk or treat. Here Brielle is on her ride around. Thanks to Bryan's family and my family for just showing up and helping Bryan with the kids while I ran around.
 Some of the haunted house
The sister that headed up the haunted house was amazingly creative. She had headstones for all of the bishopric. I was absolutely amazed by what she did for $120! Just make sure that when you use a fog machine, you put it on the intermittent setting and not continual-they set of smoke alarms in close quarters which results in the fire dept showing up at your party and then the stake banning haunted houses or the use of fog machines ever again. I am glad I have an awesome Bishopric that just laughed at the situation.
Another lesson I learned when doing a party outside, check the sprinkler timers. They may come on in the middle of your party hitting extension cords with water and shorting out stuff. Fun...fun...
Davin, Daddy and Chase (Davin's good bud) trunk or treating
More haunted house-sorry out of order
The jail house (granted this is with lights on too and not in the dark with black lights)
hallway with bats walking into Frankenstein's lair
 The lair
The sister who was in charge got her siblings and their friends to come and dress up and spook kids along the way. My brother and his friend came and a couple of brethren from the ward played Frankenstein and Igor. So awesome! Everyone was really freaked out-well, the older people that is. She would send a message through to chill out when the little kids or skiddish people came through.
Although some things didn't go perfectly, it was overall a huge success I felt. We had the most attendance of any ward party to date (which is due a lot to our ever growing ward) and the Bishopric were happy with the outcome. Everyone seemed to be having a good time.
We went to my Mom's Ward Halloween Carnival again this year as in years past. They had a petting zoo this time! Davin loved it!
I couldn't believe how well-mannered all of the animals were. They were so good with all of the kids.
 Davin playing carnival games.
Brielle chilling and being so cute.
Davin shooting and although it doesn't look like it could go in, he sinks the basket among many others.
Our Relief Society has created a neighborhood email list. It is for everyone that wants to be on it and it is for emails such as "Lost Dog", "Scentsy Party", etc. A sister in the ward has decided to head up a playgroup every Thursday. When it is good weather, we rotate around the parks and in the summer, we rotate pools. It is a lot of fun.
For the holidays, she always does a fun activity for the kids. For Halloween, we used the church and she did a really fun Halloween party. She played the witch and did a little skit. She had different people bring things for the goody table. The food was all sooooo cute!
Brielle sucking on the sucker that she stole from another kid....yes, she is a bit of a punk, but a cute punk at least.
Giving me the cheesy smile cuz she sees the camera
Really bad picture cuz Brielle helped me take it but this is a pic of Davin and his best friend, Hunter. Although Davin is almost a year younger, he is still a bit taller. We love Hunter and are bummed they are in different grades. He is the sweetest boy (and has the most amazing parents and family) and we hope he and his family will stay close for a long time.
Here is Davin on Halloween. Ready for his Preschool Party as Obi Wan Kenobi...the mask absolutely creeps me out.
 Halloween night visiting Grandpa Stowell's...
 Brielle trick or treating
 Davin trick or treating
Brielle playing with her pretty dress (she loves her little car-best investment ever-keeps her belted into one place and she thinks it is fun)
We went to a Halloween Party at Amy's and Greg's house. The Minson's and Griffith's were able to come too. We had taken the kids trick or treating together (above) and then went back to the house for pizza.
Greg then brought out the silly string... Davin and Bryan had a blast with the others. I love this pic of Davin getting so excited...
Thought this picture was hilarious of Bryan
Brielle even managed to get in on the action although I didn't really approve of how she went about it.
We had a great Halloween full of lots of fun and good friends and family. I was so grateful our kids were healthy and able to enjoy every moment.
