Our New Project Together

So Bryan's cousin, Kristi, gave me the idea of these little wooden model cars, planes, etc that they sell at Michael's for $1, $2 and $3. Davin loves to go and pick one out. He will then carry it around for a couple days in its packaging. I tell him he needs to be patient and wait till Mommy can help him. Then we build it and walla!
You get a pretty cool thing out of the itty pieces of wood with random numbers on them. Now this might sound cruel that I make my son wait but if you've ever built one of these little models, you understand. Its not the easiest thing in the world and trying to build it with a 2 yr old that mixes up all the pieces is even more time consuming. Also, there is super glue involved and I have to make sure I have enough skin on my fingertips before starting so that when I glue my fingers together, there is enough there to be ripped off.
The models stay together well though and Davin loves it. I remember building bridges out of this basal wood in my high school engineering class. It is so light and bendy yet very durable. Its awesome.

  1. That looks fun! Now I want to try building one. And I know exactly what you mean about super glue - I tried to make my niece something a while back and I'm pretty sure I had super glue on my fingers for days. haha
