ZOO and hopefully no Swine Flu!
I am so grateful for my awesome friends! We decided we should take our kids to the zoo today before its too hot because its already stinkin' hot. Carla is a trooper to take 3 month old Bryan along for the ride. We all crammed into Carla's van. I am totally an SUV girl but may I say when you have more children than adults, van accessibility was quite nice. We broke a couple laws on our ride out but as long as we're all safe...it's all good right?
Davin and Hailey getting early hydration. Notice law #2 that we broke. Bryan was screaming and maybe Amy took him out of his car seat for a little part of the drive? He instantly fell asleep in the born to be mother's arms (which Amy is expecting-YAY!) and then went back in his seat where he slept for the next 5 hours. It was awesome.
Davin and the Warty pig. We did our best to try and expose our children to swine flu. Haha-I am totally kidding and we walked up on this exhibit by chance. The pig was one of the only animals actually out walking around though due to the heat.
Here is the awesome monkey that swinging around like crazy and pounded his chest like he's the man.
Davin kept calling the goats "doggies". He wanted to pet them, would walk up and get scared and not pet them. I was totally fine with that. Who knows what those goats have rolled in.
Aside from the fountains, Davin's favorite thing to do was chase the birds. He chased them everywhere and laughed so hard every time they scattered and flew away. I can't think this is weird since his dad still thinks this a fun game and has most likely taught Davin this by example.
Do you think my tractor's sexy?
Davin and Hailey in a car that's actually big enough for both of them! They didn't have to fight over it like Davin's blue car. It was awesome-they play so well together.
This was Cylee's first time playing in the fountains and she did awesome. She was not scared at all and thought it was so much fun. She's so stinkin' cute.
Fountains!! Whoever came up with the idea of fountains at the zoo was a smart cookie and deserves a raise. All 3 kids loved it. Hailey, Davin and Cylee got soaked. It was nice for them to cool off after such a long and warm day.

Starlight Girls 2009
I has 4 girls that come over every week and sing and dance. It is a lot of fun. It is especially rewarding to witness them learn and grow as performers. This year, we worked on 4 numbers that the girls chose. "Popular" from Wicked, "Dancing Queen" from Mamma Mia, "I Can Hear the Bells" from Hairspray and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."
They were asked to perform at a Health Fair last weekend. They did an awesome job amidst the wind.
Here are my 4 lovely ladies goofing off at our last rehearsal( from left to right: Natalie, Lexi, Lindsay and Lacee). I'll miss you girls!
Freestone Park
Last weekend, my parents went to Utah to pick up my sister, Lauren from BYU. Matt came and stayed with us while they were gone. It was a lot of fun to have him here. Its so easy to have him around. We were running errands and decided to grab a couple pizzas and stop by Freestone Park. We knew it was one of the last days of great weather here in AZ. We of course had not only one but two footballs in our car since Davin always has a football or basketball in his hands. Davin loved to throw around the football with his dad and his Mesa High Quarterback Uncle Matt. Dude, Matt can launch that thing. Bryan almost had to dive into the lake a couple times after it but Matt would be right on Target and hit the tree or whatever he was aiming for to ricochet it back. Crazy.
I didn't get the best pics that night. I waited till it was too dark. Sorry, but I did get one of Davin and his beloved football that goes everywhere with him.
And this is his dad trying to wrestingly tote him out of the park when Davin didn't want to leave.
Timmy's Birthday Party
My brother, Tim's, birthday is April 15th but we wanted to wait for Lauren to be home from BYU to celebrate his birthday. We went to Timmy's grave and had a little birthday party. We wrote messages on papers and put them in balloons that we filled up. We then let the balloons go as we sing Happy Birthday. I know this probably not the best thing for the environment but it is what appeases my mother so we do it. The kids love it too.
Tim's headstone
writing messages
filling balloons
getting ready aka chasing kids
Davin went through 3 balloons before we got to the actual balloon launch and sang. I don't know how he kept getting them off his wrist. This is a pic of Davin having just "lost" his 3rd ballon. "Uh-oh"
And they're off!
Singing "Happy Birthday"
Both Grandma's teary eyes
Davin's amazement
My lone balloon that couldn't keep up with the rest cuz it was too fat. Bryan made me a special Mesa High Balloon. It was a purple balloon with a gold one inside. I don't know where he comes up with these crazy ideas. I took a pic but it didn't turn out well. It looked really cool. It was a little too fat though to rise as high as the others. Not a very good way to represent MHS.
My Beautiful Holly Friend
Oh how I do love Holly Butler now Johnson. You are the sweetest person I know and deserve the world. I love that you married your high school sweet heart and that you both adore each other. You two complete one another and it is breathtaking to witness.
I am so excited for her baby girl to come. She is going to be beautiful and the most wonderful child. Her parents are the salt of the earth so how could she not be the sweetest little girl ever? I am so glad to have you as a good friend dear Holly. Love to you always! Please move back from BYU!!!

Hot Dog Addict
Davin loves hot dogs. He's addicted.
I can't get him to eat anything else most of the time. We're working on it but its hard when I put food in front of him and he goes to the fridge, gets the hot dogs out and says "Doggies!"
I know processed meat is not the best thing for my child but if it means no food or this processed food crap, I'll take the later.
This is the process of him eating his hot dogs. Very seriously eating, happiness and yeah cheesy face! He is so my son-little performer.
Dumb dog
Apart from being a collie, you would think our dog is so retarded most of the time. This is what I was welcomed with when I entered my kitchen yesterday.
This is Davin's reflux medicine. I can't really tell if she got any or not. Bryan said he hopes she pukes to teach her a lesson but I think this stuff would do the opposite. Her belly is going to be feeling great!
Baby Caslynn
My sister Heather and her husband Steve just welcomed into the family a beautiful baby girl on April 8th! Just one day shy of my birthday which would have been awesome but its all good. She is named Caslynn Tanner. They call her Cassie. Heather's middle name is Lynn after our Uncle Chad Lynn so its awesome that Casi could have the special name in her's too. So now its complete, Cade, Carson, Camryn (Cami) and Caslynn (Casi). What a beautiful family!
Happy Birthday Timmy-Man
Happy Birthday Timmy! I love you and miss you big brother

Bryan, Kent and Tim in the teacups at Disneyland. (Tim does look oofy here-bad pic I guess) They looked so ridiculous. They were spinning so fast and they are all so big, it looked like the teacup was going to spin away.
Dazed Christmas morning 2006. Tim doesn't really have devil eyes. They are beautiful deep brown.

Mr. Hospital Boy
So, Davin gets sick. A lot. I have pestered doctors right and left about his frequent pneumonias and none have ever so muched as listened to me. They just tell me he was born early and was 10 pounds 7 ounces so his little lungs are having a hard time keeping up. Bull crap-everything else keeps up. Well, actually everything else is ahead of schedule too. So, Easter was a ton of fun and then the cough set in. Now, when Davin gets sick-he's like 0 to 100. We watch him really carefully. Davin's cough got worse through the day and we eventually ended up at Tyson and Holly Boltz's for Tyson to check him out. Sure enough, he was already pretty bad. We decided to go to the PCH Urgent Care while they were still open in an attempt to avoid our usual 3 am ER visit.
They were wonderful at the urgent care and took Davin back immediately. His air way was starting to close off. They gave him an epinefrin breathing treatment (I know I spelled that wrong and will continue to spell every med name wrong) and Decadron. Davin's breathing calmed down. They make you sit for 3-4 hours after these breathing treatments to monitor the patient which we knew since we've been through this numerous times. Well, this time, it didn't work for long.
After an hour, Davin's breathing got suddenly worse. Another breathing treatment was done, an ambulance was called, and soon I was sitting in an ambulance with my son hooked up to stuff on the way to Phoenix Children's Hospital with my husband following close behind in my SUV which I forgot to fill with gas. I was just hoping the fumes would make the trip.
We arrived and were taken back into a room in the ER. If you want to get right into an ER, take the ambulance. The waiting room was overflowing. Another breathing treatment was needed and finally Davin slept. They actually left us alone too. They told us they were waiting on a room upstairs and to get some sleep before the long day ahead of us.
After sleeping for 4 hours in the most uncomfortable positions thinkable, we woke up and were sent to do tests. They were overly alarmed with Davin's medical history and immediatley had many theories they were going to look into. Davin was a trooper and the hospital staff was incredible. They were so patient with him and the only thing he was actually poked for was the blood draw/IV insertion which they did while he was asleep with this new type of Lidacane spray that is applied to the top of the skin.
Being in the hospital for 2 1/2 days is nothing I wish upon anyone. First of all, you're stuck. They wouldn't let us out of our room. My son does not do restriction well. He also is totally my son. He would only watch High School Musical 3 and the Sun's game. Finding Nemo? Didn't even trigger the slightest interest. He has to have sports or music.
In the end, we have figured out that he has horrible reflux and is aspirating into his lungs. Basically, a ton of fluid is going down the wrong tube when he drinks into his lungs and some food comes up from his stomach, he gags on it and some of it ends up in his lungs. He's got a ton of crap in his lungs. And I wonder why he has pneumonia so often?!? RRRRRrrrr.
We have to go back May 1st to see the pulmonologist again. They are pretty sure they can fix this with a surgery. IN the mean time, the only thing we can do is put Davin on a reflux med and thicken all of his drinks to a honey thickness. The mixture is annoying, hard to mix, and really freaking expensive but nothing is too much to make Davin feel better. I just hope we can fix this and never have to look back.

Davin's Easter Photo Shoot
A good friend in the ward, Rachel Bailey, takes amazing pictures. Since we had spent the money on the tux ensemble for the wedding, I thought we would get our money's worth out of it and have Rachel take some good pics of Davin.
Davin started off great. He was smiling, he was so cute and then he spotted it.
A small little soccer ball. He would not put it down.
Then he found a blow up pool of which he decided to try and get in. It was downhill from there.
Rachel was so patient and kind. She got some great pictures amongst Davin's theatrics. When we left, I was thinking, if we could just get one good one please...well, she got a lot more than one great one. She did some amazing effects on the pictures too. My favorite is just above of Davin's little smirk. She made the pic black and white but still kept some of his blue in his eyes. Perfect. Thank you Rachel! You take such amazing pictures. I'm sad you are moving away.

Easter 2009
So I love Easter. Besides the incredible meaning and remembering the great sacrifice our Savior made for us before he was resurrected, I love being the Easter Bunny. When I was a kid, I thought waking up Easter morning was as good as Christmas Morning. The thing is, the Easter Bunny's trail is always different very year. You never knew where it would take you.

I was so excited to show Davin how to follow the Easter Bunny's trail. I will use Bunny hair (cotton balls) in the future but for now, to ensure he would follow, I used sport easter eggs. The plan worked perfect. My son can spot a football/basketball/soccer ball/baseball a mile away. Since it was "balls" too, he was so excited.

At the end of the bunny trail was our Easter Baskets. Bryan got slingshot planes, Reeses mini peanut butter cups, peanut m&m's, Red Vines and probably more junk food I can't think of. Davin got his gummy bears (2 bags), laffy taffy's, hot wheels and his new trike!

He loves his trike, we can't get him off it. I did so much research to find the right trike for his age and such and of course the one with best reviews has to have so much purple. Oh well, if its the one that is best and it has by far the best reviews. Davin loves it and thats what matters.

Vixen (our awesome Collie dog) hates the trike though. I think she believes it will hurt Davin and so therefore tries to attack it like anything she finds dangerous for Davin. As much as that dog can make me so mad with her puppy habits, she loves Davin and he loves her. She would do anything for that kid. She is so protective. She even went after a dog last weekend at the dog park that jumped up on Davin. What more can you ask for in a little boys' best friend?

Our Birthdays
So, my birthday is April 9th and Bryan's is April 10th. Nevertheless, Bryan is an accountant, so our birthdays are not exactly at the most convenient time of year.

We did find time to go out to dinner though on Bryan's birthday. Rock the Waldo's BBQ! We had a nice time. I love being with my Handsome.

Sun's Game
Our good friends, Brock and Taryn White gave us Suns' tickets. We weren't going to take Davin at first but then realized he would probably watch the game better than either of us. Not really but we knew he would love it.

They have a really fun kid area at the arena that is FREE and it actually wasn't as crazy as I thought it would be. Crazier still, the kids shared! Davin loves playing basketball especially when Daddy is there to help him dunk.

After the game outside the arena. Davin sported his Suns' jersey. I wish the team weren't so messed up. I still love watching them play though.

Thanks Brock and Taryn for the awesome tickets! And thank you Ocean Blue for dessert! Yummy to my tummy!
